POST ELECTION VIOLENCE TURNKEY CONSTRUCTIONS WORKS
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR TURNKEY DESIGN AND BUILD CONTRACT FOR
NZOIA CLUSTER PHASE III.
CONTRACT NO: LVNWSB/WaSSIP /PEVTP/01 Lot 1 or Lot 2

This request for Bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business, issue No. 715 of 30 November 2007.

The Government of Kenya has received a loan from International Development Association (IDA),and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan for payments under the contract for Turnkey Services for Construction Works for Nzoia Cluster Ph III

Lake Victoria North Water Services Board as the Employer and Implementation agency now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the Turnkey Contract for Design and Construction associated with Post Election Violence Damages to Water facilities infrastructure

Bidding will be a two stage National Competitive Bidding procedure as specified in the World Banks Guidelines Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004 (Revised October 1,2006). The prospective bidders will provide their technical and financial proposals in separate envelopes. A separate envelope will be provided for bid security and placed inside the envelope with financial proposal
Prospective Bidders should note:

It is proposed that the turnkey services for the above works shall be undertaken in 2 packages.:

1. Chesikaki and Elgon East Water supplies in Mt Elgon District _Lot 1
2. Dam Works at Little Nzoia Water Supply in Lugari District Lot 2

The services required will include:

1. Assessment of post election violence damage to water infrastructure
2. Preparation of Detailed Detailed Designs
3. Preparation of monthly reports during implementation
4. Implentation of required construction works
5. Preparation of As Built Drawings

Bidding will feature design and build technical specifications for project delivery in 8 months. Construction is expected to commence in May 2009
Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Lake Victoria North Water Services Board from 0745 to 16.30 Hours from Monday to Friday excluding lunch hour(13.00to 14.00 hours) .Bidders may bid for Lot 1 or Iot2 or both.

All Bids must be accompanied by Bid Security of Ksh 80,000 for Lotl and Kshs 112 ,000 for Lot2 from a reputable bank or a sum of the two amounts for both Lots. Or an equivalent amount in freely convertible currency.

Hie Bids must be delivered to the address below by 18th March 2009.at 12 noon local time. Late Bids will be rejected
