INVITATION FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

This Invitation for Expression of Interest follows the General Procurement Notice for this project, which appeared in Development Business Issue No. 694 dated 16 January 2007.

The Permanent Secretariat of the Northern Corridor Transit Transport Coordination Authority (NCTTCA) has received a Grant in different currencies from the African Development Bank Group towards the cost of financing some regional activities under the East Africa Trade and Transport Facilitation Project.

The Institutional Support Grant from the African Development Bank Group is to provide assistance to the NCTTCA to strengthen its role in planning, harmonization, and coordination to facilitate transit transport along the Northern Corridor.

As a component of activities financed under the project, the NCTTCA intends to recruit a firm to undertake the following task:

Feasibility study and preliminary engineering design for three (3) one-stop-border post facilities along the Northern Corridor i.e.Mpondwe/Kasindi (Uganda- D R Congo border), Gisenyi/Goma (Rwanda - D R Congo border) and Akanyaru (Rwanda -
Burundi border).

The Expression of Interest (EOI) should be submitted in writing and should contain the company profile, experience in similar projects, financial status, resources (personnel/equipment/facilities) and should be clearly marked "Expression of Interest" - Feasibility study and preliminary engineering design for three one-stop-border post facilities along the Northern Corridor.

The closing date for the submission of EOI is 30 April 2009.

The EOI is open to firms and voluntarily formed joint ventures from eligible source countries, in accordance with the African Development Bank Rules of Procedure for the Use of Consultants. The EOI should be submitted to the address below.
