Postal Corporation of Kenya Prequalification of Contractors

Prequalification Number PCK/PROC/19/2008 - 2009:

The Postal Corporation of Kenya is charged with the social obligation of providing affordable postal services. In its endeavor to achieve this obligation efficiently and effectively, and in order to serve our customers better, the Corporation intends to construct a new General Post Office in Kisumu City.

The Corporation therefore invites interested eligible and qualified firms with proven experience in similar undertakings and duly registered under relevant category and institution, to submit their proposals for prequalification to undertake the construction of Kisumu General Post Office. The respective tender documents may be obtained from the Procurement Office, City Square Post Office Building, 3rd Floor upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs.3000.00 per set of documents. This fee is payable at City Square Post Office, Ground floor.

Only contractors registered in the category stated below shall be eligible to submit their proposals.

A. Main contract works
Contractors registered with Ministry of Public Works Category B and above for Building and Civil Works.

B. Electrical Works- Sub Contract 1
Contractors registered with Ministry of Energy category A and registered with -Ministry of Public Works "Category C" and above for the specialised work.

C. Mechanical Works - Sub Contract 2
Plumbing; Drainage, Sanitary Appliances and Fire Fighting. Contractors registered with Ministry of Public Works in Category D and above for this specialised work.
One (1) original and two (2) copies of the completed prequalification documents, in a plain sealed envelope clearly marked:

1. Main Contract
2. Electrical Works - Sub-Contract 1
3. Mechanical Works - Sub-Contract 2

One (1) original and two (2) copies of the completed prequalification documents, in a plain sealed envelope clearly marked "PREQUALIFICATION NUMBER PCK/PROC/19/2008-2009: CONSTRUCTION OF KISUMU GENERAL POST OFFICE" should be deposited in the tender box at Posta House, Mezzanine Floor, Kenyatta Avenue or sent by post to:-

so as to reach not later than 25th March 2008 at 2.00pm. Interested bidders are invited to witness the opening to be held at Posta House Boardroom, 7th Floor on the same day at 2.30 pm.

The Postal Corporation of Kenya may, at any time, terminate the procurement proceedings without entering into a contract and also reserves the right to accept or reject any application and is not bound to give any reasons or explanations thereof.
