Youth Enterprise Development Fund Expressions of Interest for the Provision of Business Development Services

The Youth Enterprise Development Fund Board was established as a State Corporation on 11th May 2007 to address the Economic Empowerment of the youth through Enterprise Development and Strategic Partnerships.

Some of the key mandates of the Fund's Board include:

• To provide Business Development Services to youth enterprises at the constituency level
• Support Youth enterprises to develop linkages with large enterprises
  
• To facilitate marketing of products and services for youth enterprises locally and internationally.

The above initiatives are in line with the Board's mission of increasing economic opportunities for, and participation by Kenyan youth in their self empowerment.

In order to achieve its objectives, the Board wishes to invite expressions of Interests from organizations and/or individual consultants that meet the following qualifications;

• Demonstrable Entrepreneurial Experience: Ability to disseminate entrepreneurial concepts from a practical point of view. This will call for a comprehensive understanding of today's business environment, and the factors affecting business performance across sectors,
  
• Exposure to and participation in economic development programs among the Youth in Kenya especially in partnership with government agencies
  
• Ability to identify new and develop existing business and market opportunities with a high potential to increase the rate of employment among the Kenya Youth
• Ability to initiate and sustain strategic partnerships while implementing programs
  
• Exposure and appreciation of quality control and value addition as key components of production across sectors - in order to increase the competitiveness of the goods and services produced by the Youth owned enterprises
• Integration and Development of ICT in the provision of Business Development Services aimed at increasing efficiency and profitability among the Youth owned enterprises,
  
• Result oriented service providers with proven ability to provide a range of business development services

In addition:

• The provider must be a reputable Kenyan organization/consultants with valid identification and relevant compliance documents
• Must enclose their profile clearly indicating services offered and area(s) of specialization if any, with emphasis on the relevant experience obtained to date.
