Tender No. MH/HID/03/2008-2009 Proposed Langas-Kipkaren TRUNK SEWER LINE IN ELDORET MUNICIPALITY

The Government of Kenya (Ministry of Housing in Partnership with Municipal Council of Eldoret) intends to construct a 6.0 km trunk sewer line (250 mm to 450 mm diameter) in Langas-Kipkaren Area of Eldoret Municipality.

TENDER NO. MH/HID/O4/2008-2009 Proposed Lukenya Area Trunk Sewer LINE IN MAVOKO MUNICIPALITY

The Government of Kenya (Ministry of Housing in Partnership with Municipal Council of Mavoko) intends to construct a 7.5 km trunk sewer line (300 mm and 450 mm diameter) in Lukenya Area of Mavoko Municipality.

In both cases the construction works will comprise trench excavations, part backfilling and ramming, and part loading and carting away surplus excavated materials, construction of manholes, laying and joining of precast concrete 'spigot and socket' pipes inclusive of concrete bedding and surround.

TENDER NO. MH/CSHSF /01/2008 - 2009 FOR COMPLETION OF THE of the Proposed Civil Servants Tenant PURCHASE HOUSING PROJECT ON PLOT NOS. 209/3170, 209/3171, Nyeri road, Kileleshwa, NAIROBI (RE-ADVERTISEMENT)

The Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Housing intends to complete residential apartments under the Civil Servants Housing Scheme Fund. The tender comprises completion of 40 No. 4 bedroom apartments in eight (8) blocks of five (5) storey including associated civil works, plumbing, mechanical and electrical services.

The Ministry of Housing, now invites sealed bids for the construction of the works from interested contractors who meet the following requirements: -

1 . Be a registered company incorporated in Kenya under the Companies Act CAP 486 (All Projects)

2. Be registered in Category A or B (General Building Contractor) by the Ministry of Public Works. New register effective January 2006 (enclose copy of registration certificate). (Nyeri Road project)

3. Must have successfully completed a minimum of two projects of a similar nature and complexity in the last five years, each of which must be of a value of at least Kenya shillings one hundred and fifty million (enclose copies of certificates of completion). (Nyeri Road project)

4. Must be registered by the Ministry of Public Works in Category 'C' and above in Civil Engineering Works; (Eldoret & Mavoko Projects)

5. Must be registered as a contractor by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation in Category 'B' and above. (Eldoret & Mavoko Projects)

6. Must provide a bid security in the amount of Kshs. 2,000,000 for the Mavoko, Nyeri Road Project and Ksh 3,000,000 for the Eldoret project from an approved commercial bank or insurance company;

7. Must provide evidence of finance, personnel and equipment capability necessary for carrying out the works; (All Projects)

8. Must submit current Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority together with the tender.( All Projects)

Interested Contractors who must be registered in the Categories indicated above and who appear in the current Building Contractors' Register (proof of registration required) may obtain in person or against a written application tender documents from The procurement Office, Ministry of Housing, Ngong Road, 6th floor, Ardhi House, Wing 'C' Room 606, during official working hours upon payment of a non-refundable fee of KSh. 5,000/=(Five Thousand only) in form of cash or in Banker's Cheque payable to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Housing, Nairobi, for Eldoret and Mavoko Project.

For Nyeri Road Banker's Cheques should be drawn in favour of 'Civil Servants Housing Scheme Fund'. Contractors who purchased the tender documents for Nyeri Road Project after the advertisement in December 2008 will not be required to make payment and will obtain the tender documents on production of original receipts.

Separate tender Bids in plain, sealed envelopes, marked TENDER No. MH/HID/O3/2008-2009, TENDER No. MH/HID/O4/ 2008-2009 and TENDER No. MH/CSHSF/01/2008 - 2009, and bearing no indication of the tenderer should be addressed to:-
Permanent Secretary Ministry of Housing P.O. Box 30119-00100 NAIROBI
and placed in the Tender Box on 6th floor Ardhi House, Ministry of Housing Headquarters, Ngong Road, Nairobi or sent by post to reach the above address not later than Tuesday, 24th March 2009 at 12 noon.

Submitted bids for TENDER No. MH/HID/O3/2008-2009, and MH/HID/O4/2008-2009 and Technical Bids for TENDER No. MH/CSHSF/01/2008 - 2009 will be opened on the same day at 12.15 pm in the Conference Room, 6th Floor Ministry of Housing Headquarters, in the presence of tenderer's representatives who choose to attend.

Late bids will be returned unopened. Prices quoted must remain valid for a minimum period of One Hundred and Twenty (120) days from the tender opening date.

The Government reserves the right to reject any tender without giving reasons and is not bound to accept the lowest or any tender.
