Request for Expression of Interest for Sale of Land for a Refuse Dumpsite

The County Council of Thika intends to purchase land for a dumpsite within Juja Division in Thika District to be used as refuse dumpsite.

The land should satisfy the under listed requirements:

i. The land must be registered (enclose photocopies of ownership documents and current search certificate)

ii. The land size should be at least five acres (5 acres)

iii. The land should be easily accessible by all weather roads,

iv. The land should be ideal for a dumpsite and not very near to a water course

v. The land should be ideally located and not more than 10kms from the central business district (C.B.D) of Juja Township or fifteen (15) kms from C.B.D of Thika Town. (Enclose site location plan),

vi. The land to be free of any encumbrances,

vii. The land should have excavatable soils up to a depth of at least two meters (2 m) deep.

Interested firms or individuals willing to sell land to the Council should indicate in writing by expressing interest in line with above requirements.

In the meantime you are advised not to indicate the cost of sale.

The expression of interest document should be submitted on a plain sealed envelope bearing no indication of the sender but marked "EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR SALE OF LAND TO COUNTY COUNCIL OF THIKA" and addressed to:

The document should be submitted not later than 12.00 noon on 7th April 2009.
