Bulk Borehole Water Supply

During these trying times of the ongoing drought, the Nairobi Water Company has continued to experience difficulties in meeting its customer's water demands.

To lessen the problem, the Company is undertaking various corrective measures towards improving the levels of service delivery to its customers.

Among such measures is exploration of underground water which is intended to enhance the available supplies from the Company's water sources.

The Company now invites eligible borehole water suppliers to express their interest in supplying the water in partnership with us.

Interested suppliers within Nairobi must provide information indicating that:-
  • They have a valid abstraction permit from the relevant authorities and the bore hole completion certificate.
  • They have a capacity to produce and supply a minimum of 10m3 per hour of safe drinking water.
  • They are capable to provide the water to the Company within fourteen (14) days (maximum) on agreement.
  • They are both technically and financially capable of operating and maintaining the boreholes.
  • They have a platform with an elevated tank for ease of loading water tankers.
Expression of interest, indicating cost per cubic meter of water, should reach the undersigned by January 19, 2009.
