Tenders are invited from qualified Contractors for the following works:-
a) Tender No. TVT/29/08-09 proposed construction and completion of Taveta border control point.
b) Tender No. TVT/30/08-09 proposed Electrical works for Taveta border control point.
Interested bidders should be in Category "E" and above for the works listed in "a" while the bidders in tender "b" should be in Category "F" and above.
Bidders must provide bid security bonds from reputable banks in form of a bank guarantee valid for 150 days from date of tender opening as follows:-
Tender listed "a" KShs. 25O,OOO/= Tender listed "b" KShs. 60,000/= each
Bidders must also satisfy the following conditions among the minimum criteria for evaluation:
1. Proof of works of similar magnitude and complexity undertaken in the last five years
2. Adequate equipment and personnel for the specified types of works
3. Sound financial standing and adequate access to bank credit line.
4. Litigation History of the Company (both court and arbitration cases)
5. Copy of P.I.N. Certificate
6. Tax compliance certificate, current trade license
Further tender from the following tenderers shall be treated as NON-RESPONSIVE and therefore subject to automatic disqualification:
i. Contractors whose previous work attracted unresolved query
ii. A tender from a tenderer whose on-going project(s) is/are behind schedule and without any approved extension of time,
iii. A tender from a tenderer who has been served with a default notice on-gong project(s)
The bid documents can be purchased from the Procurement Office, Taveta District Commissioner's Office, upon payment of non-refundable fee of KShs. 5,000/= for Tender listed "a", and Kshs. 2,000/= for tender listed "b" at the cash office before 4.00 p.m. on normal working days. Payment can be cash or bankers cheque to the District Commissioner, Taveta District.
Tender bids in plain sealed envelops, clearly marked the tender No. and description only as in "a" or "b" above and bearing no indication of the tenderer should be addressed to:
The District Commissioner, P.O. Box 3 Taveta
And placed in the Tender Box or sent by post so as to reach the above address not later than 18th February, 2009 at 10.00 a.m.
Submitted documents will be opened publicly in the District Commissioner's Office, soon after the above stated closing date and time in the presence of their tenderer or their representatives who choose to attend.
Late bids will be returned unopened.
Prices quoted must remain valid for one hundred and twenty (120) days from the opening date of tender. The Government reserves the right to reject any or all tenders without giving reasons for the rejection and does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
