Tender for Construction of Kisii Prison Water Distribution System and Rehabilitation of the Sanitation System

PRISONERS CARE PROGRAMME (PCP) is a Non Governmental Organization committed to improving the human rights status of prisoners and detainees in Kenya.

PCP has entered into a cooperation agreement with UN Habitat (UNITED NATIONS HUMAN SETTLEMENTS PROGRAMME) to fund installation of water distribution system and rehabilitation of the sanitation system within Kisii Prison.

Prisoners Care Programme invites tenders from approved contractors for the construction of Kisii Prison water distribution system and rehabilitation of the sanitation system.

The main features of the works are as follows:
  • Installation of 303m of 2" UPVC/GI transmission Pipeline connection from the main upper Jogoo line
  • Installation of 930m of 1.5" -3/4" Gl pipes for distribution pipelines
  • Construction of two 100 m3 ground masonry tanks
  • Installation of 20m3 elevated water tanks (roto tank)
  • Rehabilitation of sanitary fittings and sewer system in the prison staff houses
Tender documents may be obtained from Lang'ata shopping centre, off Lang'ata Rd, shop # 13 tel 020 202 3330/0722 30 70 70/0722 444100/0722 52 99 18 during normal working hours upon payment of non-refundable fee of Kshs 5,000 (five thousand) per document payable by bankers cheque. For local tenderers, the documents can be obtained from our representative at Kisii Prison on payment of the same.

Local knowledge of the area will be an added advantage.

Complete Tender documents in plain sealed envelopes, clearly marked "Tender for CONSTRUCTION OF KISII PRISON WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM AND REHABILITATION OF THE SANITATION SYSTEM" and addressed to

Should be returned to our office or our representative at Kisii Prison not later than 6th February 2009 at 12.00 noon.
