INVITATION FOR BIDS TENDER NO CTB 8/2008 FOR

Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Power Systems to Dar Es Salaam Telephone House.

1. The Tanzania Telecommunications Company Limited (TTCL) the national biggest fixed telephone line operator in Tanzania intends to use her internal generated funds towards the project for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of power system.

2. TTCL now invites sealed bids from eligible Tenderers for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of power system to Dar es Salaam Telephone House.

3. Tendering will be conducted through International Competitive Bidding (ICB) a procedure specified in the Public Procurement (Goods, Works, Non consultant services and Disposal of public Assets by Tender) Regulations 2005- Government Notice No 97 and is open to all Tenderers as defined in the Regulations.

4. Interested eligible Tenderers may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of the TTCL Tender Board Secretary, 7th floor, Extelecomms House along Samora Avenue in Dar es Salaam between 08:00 hours to 16:00 hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, except for public holidays.

5. A complete set of bidding documents and additional.sets may be purchased by interested Tenderers on submission of a written application to the address given below upon payment of none refundable bidding fee of TShs 100,000.00 (Tanzanian Shillings One Hundred Thousand only) or equivalent in free convertible currency in case of foreign firms. Payment should be made either by Bankers draft, cash, or Bankers cheque to the Headquarter Cashier Extelecomms House, Ground floor, along Samora Avenue, P. O. Box 9494 Dar es Salaam.

6. Tenders properly filled in and enclosed in plain sealed envelopes clearly marking the tender reference, must be delivered to the address indicated below. All tenders in one original plus one copy enclosed in plain sealed envelopes must be accompanied by an Original Tender Security in an acceptable form in the amount of two (2) percent of the tender amount in freely convertible currency properly addressed to the Chief Financial Officer, TTCL, P .O. Box 9494, Dar es Salaam.

All tenders must either be delivered by hand, or courier, or be sent by registered post so as to reach the Secretary, Tender Board before the deadline for submission of tenders.

7. The Deadline for the submission of Bids shall be 14:00 hours (local time) on Thursday 26th March 2009. Bids will be opened in public and in the presence of Bidders representatives who choose to attend the opening ceremony to be held in the 12th floor Conference room, TTCL Extelecomms House, along Samora Avenue at 14:30 hours on Thursday 26th March 2009. The outer cover/envelope shall be clearly marked: 'Tender No. CTB 8/2008 - Supply, installation, Testing and Commissioning of Power System to Dar es Salaam Telephone House' and words 'Do not open before 14:30 hours on Thursday 26th March 2009'.

8. Telegraphic, telex, telefax, and late none telegraphic, telex and telefax will not be accepted. Tenders received beyond the submission deadline and not opened in respective public Tender opening ceremony shall not be accepted for evaluation process irrespective of the circumstances.
