The Proposed Construction and Completion of a Four Storey Institute Embu.

The Government of Kenya through the Ministry of state for public service invites Tenders for the proposed construction and completion of a five storey administration block at Government Training Institute - Embu.

The contractors bidding for these works must be registered with the Ministry of Public works in the category "C" and above in the current register (proof of registration required) may obtain tender documents from procurement office GTI-Embu in person or against written application. A non refundable fee of Kshs, 5000 to be paid in cash at the cash office between 8.00 a.m -4.00 p.m on normal working days or in bankers' cheque payable to Director GTI Embu.

Tenderers must submit a bid bond of kshs.500,000 from a reputable bank.

Interested bidders should note that only those meeting the criteria indicated below as a minimum, supported by relevant document at submission will be considered for further evaluation.

1. Proof of works of similar magnitude and complexity undertaken in the last five years.
2. The Bid Bond must be in form of bank Guarantee from a reputable bank.
3. Adequate equipment and key personnel for the specified types of works.
4. Sound financial standing and adequate access to bank credit line.
5. Litigation history of the Company (both court and arbitration).
6. Must submit names of proposed domestic sub-contractors for specialized works who are registered in the appropriate categories as indicated.
7. Confidential Business Questionnaire.
8. Copy of P. I. N .Certificate.
9. Tax Compliance Certificate.

Further, tenders from the following tenderers shall be treated as NON - RESPONSIVE and therefore subject to automatic disqualification.

(i) A tender from a tenderer whose on - going project(s) is/are behind schedule and without any approved extension of time.

(ii) A tender from a tenderer who has been served with a default notice on on-going project(s).

Tenders in plain sealed envelopes, marked Tender No. EBU/GTI/25/2008-2009 on the right hand side corner and bearing no indication of the tenderer should be addressed to:-

And placed in the tender box on the ground floor at the entrance of Administration block along the corridor or sent by post so as to reach the above address not later than 3th February 2009 at 10.00 Am.

Submitted bids will be opened publicly in the Conference Hall II soon after the above stated closing date and time in the presence of Tenderers or their representatives who choose to attend. Late bids will be returned unopened.
