Tender for Construction of Homa Bay Prison Water Distribution System and Rehabilitation of the Sanitation System

PRISONERS CARE PROGRAMME (PCP) is a Non Governmental Organization committed to improving the human rights status of prisoners and detainees in Kenya.

PCP has entered into a cooperation agreement with UN HABITAT (UNITED NATIONS HUMAN SETTLEMENTS PROGRAMME) to fund installation of water distribution system and rehabilitation of the sanitation system within Homa Bay Prison.

Prisoners Care Programme invites tenders from approved contractors for the construction of Homa Bay Prison water distribution system and rehabilitation of the sanitation system.

The main features of the works are as follows:
  • Laying 2" Gl - 195m long water transmission pipeline from the Homa Water and Sanitation Company storage tanks at foot of Got Asego Hill to new storage tank new storage at the head of the prison farm.
  • Construction of 2 ground masonry water storage tank 50m3 at the head of the prison farm.
  • Laying of 1.5" and 3/4" cumulative length 1,347m distribution pipelines from the storage tanks to distribution points in staff houses and prison facilities
Tender documents may be obtained from Lang'ata shopping centre, off Lang'ata rd, shop # 13, tel 020 202 3330/0722 30 70 70/0722 444 100/0722 52 99 18 during normal working hours upon payment of non-refundable fee of Kshs 5,000 (five thousand) per document payable by bankers cheque.

For local tenderers, the documents can be obtained from our representative at Homabay Prison on payment of the same.

Local knowledge of the area will be an added advantage.

Should be returned to our office or our representative at Homabay Prison not later than 6th February 2009 at 12.00 noon.
