For Supply of Four Wheel Drive (4WD) Motor Vehicles

1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issue no. 672 of February, 2006.

2. The United Republic of Tanzania has received a credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Marine and Coastal Environment Management Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the supply of 4WD Motor vehicles, for MACEMP

3. The Ministerial Tender Board of the Ministry of Livestock Development and Fisheries now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for Supply of the following:

4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Project Manager,Marine and Coastal Environment Management Project office at Temeke Veterinary along Mandela Road Dar-es-Salaam Tanzania e-mail robert @ yahoo.com Tel+255-22-21861910/2860470 and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below from 0900 hours to 1500 hours Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

6. Qualifications requirements include a track record of manufacture and/or supply of Motor vehicles. The bidder must demonstrate a record of two or more successful supplies of Motor vehicles over the previous five years. Evidence of such supply should be in the form of a schedule of the names and contact fax or telephone numbers of customers who have been supplied along with a brief description of the goods and documentary evidence of Client Acceptance Certificates.

A margin of preference shall not be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.

7. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of Tshs.50,000.00 or USD50.00. The method of payment will be cash or banker's cheque payable to the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Livestock Development and Fisheries.

8. Bids must be deposited in the Tender Box located in Room No. 4 in the Ministry of Livestock Development and Fisheries Temeke Veterinary along Mandela Road, at or before 1000hours local time on Tuesday 24th February 2009. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below at 1000hours local time on Tuesday 24th February,2009 All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of 2.5% of the bid price in the currency of the tender or an equivalent amount hi a freely convertible currency.
