Interested bidders must meet the following minimum criteria which should be demonstrated by producing evidence at the time of bid submission:
1. Be registered with the ministry of Public Works as building contractors in category 'G' and above.
2. Show proof of works of similar magnitude undertaken in the last five years.
3. Proof of sound financial standing and adequate access to bank credit line.
4. Bid bonds must be in form of a Bank Guarantee from reputable commercial banks for Kenya Shillings One Hundred Thousand. [Kshs. 100,000.00]
5. Proof of tax compliance from Kenya Revenue Authority [KRA].
6. Fully completed Confidential Business Questionnaires.
7. Litigation History of the Company[both court and arbitration cases]
Prospective bidders should arrange on their own to visit the site before tendering and view the drawings at the District Works Officer's offices. Tender documents may be collected from the District Procurement Offices located at the District Commissioner's offices Embu During Working Hours upon payment of a non refundable fee of Ksh 3,000 in cash.
The bids in plain sealed envelopes bearing the names of the tender and tender number but without indication of tenderers names should be addressed to the District Commissioner.
All bids shall be deposited in the tender boxes situated at the main entrance to the district Commissioner's offices not latter than 28th January 2009 by 12.00 noon. Tender opening will be done there after, tenderers or their authorized agents who wish to witness are free to do so.
